Choosing joy

In the two plus years I have been reading blogs and been a small part of the blog world, a few blogs have stuck with me and they are always the first I read when I have a few moments to spare. This one, Gitz, has challenged me to my core time after time. Sara's story of the life (and now death) God has called her to is nothing short of amazing and significant. Tonight, she is surrounded by friends and family, and Hospice, as she prepares to meet our Jesus. It will be a strange day when I no longer have Sara's words to challenge and inspire me. But through her pain and her life of choosing joy, she made an impact that may never be fully known this side of Heaven. I can only pray that if ever faced with anything even close to this kind of journey that I would display the grace and courage Sara has. I cannot wait to meet her someday.

Sara's favorite quote:
Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones. And when you have finished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.
Be well and be healed Sara. You have so earned the right to hear the words, well done my good and faithful servant. Thank you for always reminding me to choose joy.
